Wholesale apparel almost always prices in three tiers: piece, dozen, and case. The difference between dozen and case price is usually big enough that ordering one extra dozen pays for itself.
Take a midweight tee with a $5.50 piece price, $4.80 dozen price, and $4.10 case price (72 units per case). Buy 11? You pay $60.50. Buy a full case of 72? You pay $295.20 — only $234.70 more for 61 extra units, or $3.85 per added unit. That's effectively wholesaler cost.
